Rafi Silver is a professional actor, writer, and educator from upstate New York. He is one of the co-creators of the class “Proof of Concept” which was developed to encourage acting students in their final year of training to begin the process of creating their own original performance-based content. He has taught versions of this class at NYU’s Graduate Acting MFA, Syracuse University's Tepper Semester, and Columbia University’s Graduate Acting MFA programs. In addition to that, he has also been on faculty at The Acting Corps studio in Los Angeles where he taught scene study, on camera technique, and the business of show.
As a writer, he is the co-creator of the web series Hollywood Hitmen which was nominated for Best Screenplay and Best Comedy at the Melbourne International Web Fest, and was also an official selection of the 2017 LA Web Fest. He co-wrote the play, All the Way Home, which has received workshops in New York and Los Angeles. Plus he currently has an adult animated show in development with Shadow Machine Animation (makers of Bojack Horseman) which he has pitched to major networks.
As an actor he has had recurring roles on Manifest, Shameless, NCIS, NCIS LA and Scandal and has been seen on Happy Endings, American Dad, We Bare Bears, Ben and Kate, Fringe, Elementary, and Madam Secretary. His theatre credits include The Effect at Studio Theatre DC where he was nominated for a Helen Hayes Award for Best Lead Actor, Masked (DR2), Cry of the Reed (Huntington Theatre), Manipulation (Cherry Lane), and Carrie (PS122). Rafi holds an MFA from NYU's Graduate Acting Program and a BFA from Syracuse University’s Acting Program.
