Robert Fried currently a partner at Withum Smith & Brown, and was a founding partner at Fried and Kowgios Partners CPA's LLP. The Withum firm is one of the leading industry providers of attestation, accounting, tax and consulting services for Broadway, Off Broadway, touring theatrical, and live musical and dramatic presentations. Robert provides business consulting and accounting services to hundreds of theatrical productions, both in the United States and abroad. Mr. Fried currently represents some of the most prominent and successful Broadway shows including?Hamilton,?Wicked?and?Book of Mormon.
He also provides cross border planning to both domestic and foreign producers for theatrical productions and licensing and repres nuts numerous shows on the West End including?Harry Potter,?School of Rock?and?Dream Girls.? In addition to work within the commercial theatre industry, the firm renders a full range of accounting services to numerous not-for-profit performing and presenting arts organizations.

Mr. Fried is a frequent speaker on tax planning issues for performing arts and other entertainment organizations. He serves as a trustee of Theatre Development Fund and chairman of the finance committee.? He is a member of the board of the Rogosin Institute and an affiliate of the Columbia Presbyterian hospital board.? He is a member of the AICPA, the NYSSCPA, New York State Society Tax Division, and an affiliate member of the League of American Theatres and Producers. Along with the League, he is currently involved in lobbying the US Congress for tax law changes that will impact the commercial theatre industry. Mr. Fried is an adjunct professor for Columbia University in their MFA program teaching theatrical accounting.
