Rona Yefman working in Photography, Video, and Installation. Her work explores social, political, and personal issues of identity through a range of human experiences by collaborating with individuals who have formed Radical personas that inscribe the iconic and the absurd of our time.
She received her BFA at Bezalel Academy for Art and Design, Jerusalem, and MFA from Columbia University School of the Arts in New York City in 2009. Her recent solo exhibitions were presented at Oslo Kunstrorening, Norway, SIC Gallery, Helsinki, Finland, Derek Eller Gallery, NY, Sommer Contemporary art, Tel Aviv, The Sculpture Center, NY and Participant Inc, NY. Those shows have been reviewed in Art Forum, Frieze, Art in America, Modern Painters, and Bomb Magazine. She National and international group exhibitions were held at; Callicoon Gallery, NY, La Mep Museum, Paris, The Jewish Museum, NY, Ronald Feldman Fine Arts, NY, The Weatherspoon Museum of Art, NC, The Neuberger Museum, NY, MOCA Cleveland OH, Kunsthalle Wein, Austria, The Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Museum Marco Vigo, Spain among others.
Rona has been a resident at Smack Mellon residency, BK, NY, The Camera Club of NY, Fountainhead Miami, and Out Post-residency, BK among others, She received The Lotos Club Award for excellency, The Rema Hort Mann Scholarship, NY, The Gerard Levy Prize for a young photographer by the Israel Museum, and The Ingeborg Bachmann Scholarship Established by Anselm Kiefer of The Wolf Foundation.
Her work has been collected by public and privet collections such as The Israel Museum, Jerusalem, The Rubell family collection, USA, The Zabludowicz Collection, UK, Haaretz Daily Newspaper Collection, ISR, The Tel Aviv Museum of Art, ISR, Haifa Museum of Art, ISR, The Weatherspoon Museum of Art, NC, USA, among others.
Her first Artist Book,?Let it Bleed?(1995-2010) was published in 2016 by Little Big Man Books, LA, CA, and got many reviews in different magazines such as Dazed and Confused, HEAPS, Japan, The Photo Books review, UK, You-Do-You, NY and more.
Rona was teaching at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, the Camera Club of NY among other places and teaches at?Bezalel Academy of Art and design, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv University among?others.?
Since 2014, she is a mentor at the graduate program of Columbia University School of the Arts, NY.
