Javad Ghaderi is an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University.?His research is broadly in the analysis, design, and management of networked systems. In particular, his research interests include?Algorithms,?Optimization,?Stochastic Systems, and?Machine Learning, with application to?Communication Networks?and?Data Centers.??
Prof. Ghaderi's research has received Best Paper awards from several major conferences, such as IEEE International Conference on Computer Communications (INFOCOM) 2020, IFIP International Symposium on Computer Performance, Modeling, Measurements and Evaluation (Performance) 2020, and ACM Conference on emerging Networking EXperiments and Technologies (CoNEXT) 2016. He is also recipient of an?NSF CAREER?Award?in 2017 and Best Student Paper Finalist award at the American Control Conference (ACC) in 2013. Professor Ghaderi has taught the core curriculum courses on Computer Networks, and has developed new courses in cutting-edge areas, including Network Algorithms and Reinforcement Learning in Information Systems. He is currently serving as an Associate Editor for?IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking.
Prof. Ghaderi received his B.Sc. from the University of Tehran, Iran, in 2006, his M.Sc. from the University of Waterloo, Canada, in 2008, and his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), in 2013, all in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He spent a one-year Simons Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Texas at Austin before joining Columbia University in Fall 2014.?
