Laboratory Specialist | Introductory Biology
Jesse Manuel Graves took on the role of Laboratory Specialist at Barnard in September 2021. They are a proud graduate of The Evergreen State College, where they balanced their intensive coursework with working as a Laboratory Aide supporting biology and marine science labs. Jesse also served as an Instrumentation Aide instructing students on the operation of the campus Gas Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer and was a TA for Plant Chemical Ecology. They are an alum of Evergreen’s Calabria Lab, where they conducted research related to symbioses in lichens and mosses. In addition to their research interests in plant biology and ecology, Jesse is passionate about biological education, feminist pedagogy, and making science more open, equitable, and accessible to all.BIOL BC1501 Introductory Lab in Organismal and Evolutionary Biology
