Research Description
Kurt Keutzer's?career has been devoted to attempting to harness the power of Moore's Law. This has led him to focus on silicon compilation, logic synthesis, and system synthesis. After fifteen years in industry he joined Berkleley?and became convinced that the programming of highly-parallel chip multiprocessors would increasingly displace the building of Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICS) as a system solution. This led him to focus on the development of programming environments, particularly application frameworks, for on-chip multiprocessor systems. This is now his principal research focus.
