Research Description
Ziqi Wang is an assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.? He mainly focuses on two lines of research: (i) computational uncertainty quanti?cation methods for?rare event simulation; (ii) reliability of civil engineering structures subjected to seismic hazards. The ?rst line involves studies of e?cient Monte Carlo simulation methods, with a particular focus on rare event simulation in high-dimensional probability space. The second line focuses on studies of physics-informed nonlinear random vibration methods, stochastic response and fragility analysis of civil engineering structures subjected to seismic hazards. His future research topics will still be built on these two axes of research, but will get a profound extension/elevation in scope and depth toward analyzing and understanding the reliability/risk/resilience of critical infrastructures in a community-level.?
