Research Description
Professor Iwamoto researches new materials and fabrication techniques for architectural design. Her work focuses on connecting conceptual design to fabrication. This includes using new building technologies such as computer aided design and manufacturing tools to supplement the design process. She has built award winning work with students using CNC laser cutting, and has completed extensive CAD/CAM experimentation for furniture design and model making applications.
