BIOGRAPHY
Stephen is a Sr. Managing Director with CBRE, the world’s premier provider of integrated real estate and advisory services. As CBRE’s Infrastructure and Public Enterprise Thought Leader, Stephen is committed to applying global best practices in urban policy and infrastructure strategies to enhance the environment, equity, and economy of the world’s cities; his work has spanned six continents. His approach positions real estate as the primary foundation for successful infrastructure strategies that enhance the environment, equity, and economy of our cities. Mr. Engblom is a SPUR SF board member and is active in the Urban Land Institute and American Institute of Architects, contributes thought leadership to industry journals, and lectures and teaches at universities and institutes worldwide and across the SF Bay area. He works fluidly with public and private sector leaders as well as between the worlds of real estate, engineering, planning, and economics. He is currently serving on the SPUR task force for the re-visioning of Downtown San Francisco and has lead urban design solutions that demonstrate how all model place types in the SF Bay / Northern California Economic region can shoulder their responsibility in accommodating the next 50 years of growth while addressing the threats of sea level rise, severe storms, drought, flooding and earthquakes, and issues of affordability and inequity in the Bay Area.
