PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT
The teaching technique that I use for my Architectural Acoustics course focuses on what I believe architects need to know about acoustical design for buildings. Practical examples are presented from my design experience with thousands of buildingprojects.


BIOGRAPHY
Mr. Salter has practiced acoustical engineering for over 50years. He has worked on hundreds of architectural acoustics projects. With educational backgrounds in architecture, planning, engineering, and business, Mr. Salter has conducted a wide range of acoustical consulting work in the areas of architectural acoustics, noise control engineering, and environmental noise impact. He has had project responsibility for various facility types including offices, schools, churches, theaters, residences, hospitals, and power generating plants. In addition, Mr. Salter has served as an expert witness in over 100 cases.
Honors
2006, Fellow of the Society, Acoustical Society of America. Received “for contributions to the teaching of architectural acoustics and to its practical applications.”
1998, Allied Professions Honor Award, American Institute of Architects, California Council. Received “in recognition of unique dedication and focused drive to enhance, support and significantly contribute to the advancement of architectural practice. The extensive knowledge displayed as an acoustical consultant, author and educator creates an invaluable balance that bridges the language among various disciplines. The three decades as an innovator, practitioner and mentor, has been instrumental in increasing awareness of crucial acoustical considerations in architectural design.
