Yingying Shi is currently a tenure track Assistant Professor at the School of Economics of Nankai University. She has received her PhD in Economics from Michigan State University in 2013. Prior to joining Nankai University, Yingying Shi was Junior Professional Associate from 2008 to 2010 at the South Asia Region Transport Sector of the World Bank, where she worked extensively on project-related analytical and research work in countries such as India, Nepal and Bangladesh. She was also a PhD intern at the African Department of the International Monetary Fund during the summer of 2012, working on structural transformation issues in Sub-Saharan Africa. Her major fields of interests are international finance and trade, economic growth and development, and regional economics.
