l 材料相变行为-铁性智能材料
铁性智能材料是具有感知温度、力、电、磁等外界环境并产生驱动(位移等)效应的一类重要功能材料,主要包括形状记忆、铁电、压电和磁致伸缩等材料。它们的功能性很大程度上依赖于它们所发生的对称破缺相变。课题组致力于通过对铁性智能材料相变行为的系统研究,理解其中的物理规律、及其中的新现象,实现铁性智能材料的高性能化。
l 材料形变行为-极端条件
对于一般材料,关于其变形行为的表征理论和方法已经形成了相对完整的体系,并获得了成功的应用。然而,已有的经典表征理论和方法无法描述在极端条件下(小尺度、辐照条件、高速载荷等)材料中出现的新现象,也无法解释相应的一些微观过程。课题组致力于研究适用于极端条件下材料宏、微观性能表征理论和方法,为相关材料的选择、器件设计与安全服役提供支持。
l 应变工程及新型功能材料
应变工程是利用材料的电子结构、电子带隙开闭、光子带隙、光电效应、表面吸附及催化特性等是应变的函数这一特性,通过控制材料中的弹性应变场,进而使得材料在大弹性应变下呈现出奇异的热物理与化学特性。同时,铁性材料畴间存在着弹性应变梯度,从而导致铁性材料的畴界具有一些块体材料所不具备的独有特性,被称为畴界工程。课题组致力于利用应变工程和畴界工程的思路,设计开发如二维材料等一系列新型功能材料。
