Insightintotheadsorptionanddecompositionmechanismofhydrogen-richmoleculesonthetransitionmetalsurfacesandinvestigationonhydrogenstoragetechnologywithneworganicliquid.

Amongthenewenergyresources,hydrogenenergyhasbeenconsideredtheidealenergyduetoitsadvantages,suchasbeingrichinquantity,pollution-free,renewable,higherenergydensityandsoon.Ashydrogen-richcompounds(CH4,NH3,H2O,H2S,CH3OH,CH3CH2OH),thehigherhydrogencarryingcapacityhasmadethemmoreattractivetothedevelopmentofhydrogeneconomy.Directcatalyticdecompositionisapromisingprocessforproductionofcarbonmonoxide-freehydrogen.However,manybasicquestionssuchastheadsorptiongeometriesanddissociationpathwaysarenotcompletelyclarifiedexperimentally.Thedifficultyinexperimentsmaybeattributedtothegenerallyfastkineticsofdissociationonmetalsurfaces.Consequently,thisimpedesdetailedstructuralandmechanisticelucidationoftheadsorptionanddissociationprocess.Recently,theoreticalcomputationmethodshavebecomeapowerfulresearchtoolforunderstandingthechemicalreactionsatthemolecularlevel.Armedwiththesenewtools,manyresearchershaverefocusedonthetransitionmetalsurfacesasacatalystfordehydrogenation.Especially,periodicDFTcalculationsusingtheslabmodelhavebecomeapowerfulapproachtostudytheadsorptionofatomsandsmallmoleculesonthemetalsurfaces.Theobjectiveofmyworkistopresentfirst-principlesdensityfunctionaltheorycalculationsoftheadsorptionanddecompositionpathwayonthemetalsurfaces.Inaddition,allelementaryreactionsthatcomprisetheprocessoftheconversionofreactantstoproductsandinterveningtransitionstatesandreactionenergiesaredetermined.


N-ethylcarbazoleisfoundtobeparticularlyinterestingwithahydrogenstoragedensityof5.8wt%,also,themeltingpointis69℃andtheboilingpointishigherthan300℃.Itcouldbefullyhydrogenatedcatalyticallyundermildambientconditions,besides,thereactionofdehydrogenationcouldoccuratlowertemperature,withtheenthalpyof53kJ/molpermoleH2.Myresearchtargetisasfollows:
(1)Todesignthenewcatalystsforthehydrogenationanddehydrogenationreactionswiththeperformanceofhighactivity,selectivityandstability.
(2)Toapplytheionicliquidinthehydrogenation/dehydrogenationprocessofN-ethylcarbazoleasco-catalystor“green”solvent.
(3)Tosimulateandcalculatethegeometricconfigurationandenergyofmolecule,thetransitionstate,activationenergyandthereactionmechanism.

?应用技术方面:超临界二氧化碳萃取和萃馏用于油脂功能性成分提取,香精香料的精细分离;超临界甲醇应用于生物柴油的制备技术;连续超临界甲醇反应过程的设计。
?基础研究方面:超临界流体(二氧化碳,甲醇)与功能性成分及生物柴油的二元和三元热力学相平衡测定与热力学模拟;超临界流体(二氧化碳,甲醇)中等离子放电的条件测定和推算;高分子+溶剂体系在超临界二氧化碳中的粘度测定。

1.高压二氧化碳流体辅助电场纺丝制备高分子纳米纤维及过程模拟

电场纺丝已经被认为是制备高分子纳米纤维最有前景的技术。但是,由于一些高分子溶液的高黏度和溶剂的难挥发性制约了电场纺丝的成功应用。一种可能的解决方法是将高压(近临界)二氧化碳溶解于富含高分子的流体相中,可以数倍地降低黏度,或是通过近临界二氧化碳提取低分子的溶剂,都可有效地促成高分子物质在电场纺丝过程中形成干燥固化的纤维。
已经利用高压流体辅助电场纺丝由乙烯基吡咯烷酮(PVP)的二氯甲烷(DCM)溶液成功制备得到空心结构的PVP纳米纤维,这样的特殊结构在生物组织支架材料和传感器方面有潜在的应用空间。而对于在常压下采用常规的电场纺丝制备空心纤维,必须使用两种互不相溶的聚合物溶液和同心双轨喷头,并在后处理过程中使用加热或溶剂溶解方式将芯部聚合物除去。相比而言,我们所利用的高压辅助电场纺丝,能够较为便利地得到空心结构的纳米纤维。目前正对此过程进行模拟并尝试用相分离的原理解释空心结构的形成机理。同时其他类型的高分子材料和溶剂体系也被尝试,此外还需要研究过程参数(电压,粘度,气压,温度,流体速度,溶液浓度和电极距离等)对于纳米纤维特征的影响。

2.在超临界二氧化碳环境中非热等离子体的产生和应用
(由日本学术振兴会(JSPS)和日本21世纪CenterofExcellence(COE)项目‘脉冲能量科学和应用’资助)
 如果将超临界流体的独特流体性能和等离子体的高化学反应活性结合以来,无论从基础研究还是工业应用的角度看,都是非常令人感兴趣的研究课题。
首先,测定了在超临界二氧化碳中产生等离子放电的激发电压,发现激发电压在气相向超临界相过渡的过程中随压力增加而平稳升高,但是超出这一区域,激发电压的增长幅度呈现很大不同。这个特点可以通过在恒定温度下二氧化碳的压力-密度曲线进行解释。
 此外,在超临界二氧化碳中产生的等离子体被应用于激发甘油酯(甲醇充分存在的情况下)的甲醇解反应,从而产生脂肪酸甲酯,这是一种重要的生物柴油成分,通常是通过酸性或碱性催化剂催化甘油酯与甲醇反应产生。应用试验表明:在超临界二氧化碳中产生的等离子体对于甘油酯醇解可能是一种潜在的新型催化剂,可以替代该醇解反应中的常规催化剂。
3.利用超临界二氧化碳从油脂副产品(脱臭馏出物)中工业化生产生物柴油(脂肪酸甲酯),天然生育酚(维生素E)和甾醇(甾体药物的前体原料);本项目是和武汉凯迪精细化工有限公司合作完成。

 脱臭馏出物(DOD)是一种油脂生产过程中产生的副产品,可用于生产生物柴油,天然生育酚和甾醇。同时由于排放脱臭馏出物造成的环境污染也可以被有效降低。虽然分子蒸馏和真空精馏已经用于工业生产。但是高温过程导致了诸多问题,例如热降解,不愉快气味和颜色以及较高的成本效益比。于是新的替代技术的研发成为迫切的需要。

在初始的基础研究中,油酸甲酯,二氧化碳和生育酚的二元和三元相平衡被系统测定并通过Soave-Redlich-Kwong状态方程进行模拟。由基础研究导出合理的超临界过程条件(压力和温度。尔后,超临界二氧化碳萃馏过程被用于制备高得率(>80%)的生育酚浓缩物(>50%)。值得注意的是,我们第一次发表出版了油酸甲酯+二氧化碳+生育酚的三元相平衡数据,据此所开发的提取技术是第一个用于生育酚工业化生产的超临界流体萃馏过程。从2002年起,一个用于商业化生产的超临界二氧化碳萃馏装置(350L×2)在合作单位建成投产。基于已取得的研究成果,三项专利分别与2002年和2003年被授予。有关工业化的图文材料已被收录出版在专著SupercriticalFluidExtractionofNutraceauticalsandBioactiveCompounds(J.L.Martinez博士主编),第4章,第137页(图4.28和4.29)。
此外,为了改进这一过程,尝试在前处理过程中(将脂肪酸和甘油酯转化为脂肪酸甲酯)使用超临界甲醇以取代常规的酸性和碱性催化剂,因为常规催化剂导致了前处理过程成本较高,费时长而且易造成环境污染。实验室间歇试验得到了较理想结果,连续过程的实验有待进行。

4.生物柴油和生育酚在超临界甲醇中的相平衡,经费来源:日本学术振兴会(JSPS)外籍特别研究员项目

本研究是源于上述的课题。如前所述,超临界甲醇能够高效将脂肪酸和甘油酯同时转化为脂肪酸甲酯,在这个过程中可以回避使用常规的酸性和碱性催化剂,于是超临界甲醇过程是一种潜在的绿色化学过程,可以用于从油脂副产品(脱臭馏出物)中生产生物柴油(脂肪酸甲酯),并成为新的前处理过程利于从脱臭馏出物中浓缩天然生育酚(维生素E)和甾醇。

诸多论文报道了超临界甲醇制备生物柴油(脂肪酸甲酯)。但是,并没有相关的相平衡基础数据。从2007年4月开始,同九州大学化学工学部的岩井芳夫(YoshioIwai**)研究室合作,进行这方面的基础研究。
我们系统测定了生育酚,碳18脂肪酸甲酯,超临界甲醇的二元和三元相平衡数据,并使用Peng-Robinson状态方程进行模拟。对于超临界甲醇应用于从油脂副产品中生产生物柴油和生育酚,这一研究提供了必要的工程基础数据;这一系列研究首次测定报道了有关碳18脂肪酸甲酯+超临界甲醇二元数据以及生育酚+碳18脂肪酸甲酯+超临界甲醇三元相平衡数据。需要说明的是:从植物油脂类转化得到的生物柴油中,碳18脂肪酸甲酯是含量最多的脂肪酸甲酯(>80wt.%)。

5.超临界二氧化碳与真空精馏结合精制香橙油

 香橙油(Bergamotoil)的香味和药用特征由含氧组分提供。对于从香橙油中提取含氧组分,研究证明超临界CO2萃馏和真空精馏有互补性,配合使用可成功得到高纯度和得率的含氧组分;基于这一技术,与日本大阪市的盐野香精香料株式会社(ShionoFlavorCo.,Ltd.,Osaka,Japan)共同开发了,从柠檬油副产物中精制香精成分的超临界CO2萃馏技术。并共同申请日本特许公开(专利),于2008年4月获得授权。

6.含氢分子在过渡金属表面吸附解离的微观机理及新型有机液体储氢体系探究

氢能源具有资源丰富,无污染,可再生,能量密度高等优点,被认为是理想的清洁能源.富含氢的小分子(CH4,NH3,H2O,H2S,CH3OH,CH3CH2OH等)具有很高的储氢密度而受到人们的关注,其催化脱氢机理逐渐成为研究的热点,同时可以为大分子体系的过渡提供基础.虽然通过大量的实验可以获得丰富的表面信息,但是目前的实验方法还无法做到真正从原子尺度分析固体的表面性质和吸附现象.因此,利用量子化学理论方法对表面吸附和解离进行探究,不仅避免了实验本身对结果带来的影响,而且还能增加对表面现象的认识深度和广度,为寻找和改进有效的催化剂提供理论依据。目前正在研究CH3OH及CH3CH2OH在Pd与Au的低指数面上的吸附脱氢机理,逐渐过渡到乙基咔唑体系。
乙基咔唑是最早发现的脱氢温度在200℃以下、可完全氢化/脱氢的有机液体储氢材料,其理论储氢密度可达到5.8wt%,脱氢反应得到的氢气纯度高达99.9%.研究的内容:寻找催化性能更好的加氢/脱氢催化剂,研究加氢/脱氢反应的动力学性质,探索催化剂与中间产物的作用机理。
