1. 工业催化/石油化工/煤化工，探索纳米尺度到原子尺度上催化新原理，利用纳米-亚纳米材料发展高效化工过程；
2. 低维炭基功能材料；二维无机层状材料；开发用于催化、储能及能源转化的新型复合材料，并探索其宏量制备技术；
3. 石油精制，煤炭高效转化利用，生物质转化制备精细化学品；
4. 新型单原子催化技术，甲烷低温活化、常压合成氨、二氧化碳还原等
