课程内容简介(英文) Groundwater and Soil Remediation will be introduced in this course. The course includes four chapters. Chapter one is introduction involving background, contaminant problems and the review of remediation technologies for groundwater and soil. Chapter two focuses on key fundmental of contaminant transport, transformation, and fate in soil and groundwater. Chapter three focuses on the physical remediation technologies for contanminated soil and groundwater, such as soil vapor extraction, solidification and stabilization, vitrification, thermodynamics, electrokinetic methods, and frozen technology. Chapter four focuses on key the chemical remediation technologies for contanminated soil and groundwater, such as soil leaching and flushing/washing, solvent extraction technology, in-situ chemical oxidation, and in-situ chemical reduction and reduction dehalogenation remediation. Chapter five focus on the microbial remediation(or bioremediation) technologies for contaminated soil and groundwater. Chapter six focus on the Phytoremediation technologies for contaminated soil and groundwater. Chapter seven focus on the ecological remediation technologies for contaminated soil and groundwater. Finally, chapter eight is remediation technology development for groundwater and soil. During lecture on the course, we will increase two discussion. First discussion is the remediation technologies for contaminants from metals and radionuclides in groundwater and soil which involves geochemical characteristics of metal and radionuclide contaminants, characterization of metal and radionuclide contaminants, physical barriers for containing contaminants, technologies for immobilizing metals and radionuclides, and technologies for mobilizing metals and radionuclides. Second discussion is the DNAPL contaminants in groundwater and soil which the DNAPL problem, characterization of DNAPL contaminant, remediation technologies for DNAPL source zones, and, remediation technologies for plumes of dissolved DNAPL contaminants. |
