1993 - 1996: Department of Foreign Languages, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Master of Arts degree in Applied Linguistics.
1987 - 1988: Department of International Relations, San Francisco State University, Visting scholar.
1979 - 1983: Department of English, Petroleum University, Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature.
WORKING EXPERIENCE:
2002 - 2004: Department of Finance and Economics, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Associate Professor
1983 - 1997: Department of English, Petroleum University, Lecturer, Associate Professor

RESEARCH INTERESTS:
The areas of research interests include College English Test Design, Language Acquisition, Systemic Functional Linguistics, English for EFL Purpose (Englsih as a Foreign Language), Language Style in Spoken and Written English, Academic Writing, Language Strategies in Business Communication, Intercultural Communication, and Advertsing.
