报告题目:Dark matter search at Shanghai X-ray free-electron laser

报 告 人:向导教授,上海交通大学

报告内容:

The axion is a light pseudoscalar particle predicted by Steven Weinberg and Frank Wilczek to exist as a consequence of the Peccei–Quinn solution to the strong-CP problem. This light particle is a prime candidate to constitute the majority of all matter in the Universe. In this talk, I will discuss the potential of hunting for dark matter axions through 'Light shining through a wall' technique at Shanghai Coherent Light Facility (SCLF)--the most powerful x-ray free-electron laser to be in operation ~2025.

报告人简介:

Dao Xiang is a Professor of Physics, School of Physics and Astronomy at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and an Associate Fellow of T.D. Lee Institute. He obtained his Ph.D from Tsinghua University in 2008 and he held a Staff Scientist position at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory before joining SJTU in 2014 to lead the MeV ultrafast electron diffraction and microscopy project. His research field is accelerator physics, free-electron laser, ultrafast electron diffraction and microscopy, ultrafast structural dynamics, advanced concepts for dark matter search and beam acceleration/manipulation/diagnostics. He received the US Department of Energy Early Career Award in 2012, the Young Investigator Free-Electron Laser Prize in 2013, and the Young Scientist Award from Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China in 2016.
