A theory of three-way decisions is constructed based on thenotions of acceptance, rejection and noncommitment. It is an extensionof the commonly used binary-decision model with an added third option.Three-way decisions play a key role in everyday decision-making and havebeen widely used in many fields and disciplines. An outline of a theoryof three-way decisions is presented by examining its basic ingredients,interpretations, and relationships to other theories.

Granular computing unifies structured thinking,structured problem solving and structured information processing.

Thebasic ideas, principles, and strategies of granular computing tothe specific problem solving task are known as structured writing.Results from languages, human knowledge organization, rhetoric,writing, computer programming, and mathematical proving aresummarized and cast in a setting for structured writing. Theresults bring new insights into granular computing.

主讲人简介：

姚一豫教授，加拿大里贾纳大学(Regina University)博士，加拿大里贾纳大学教授。Web智能领域的主要创建者。研究兴趣：Web智能、信息检索、数据挖掘、模糊集、粗糙集和粒计算。Web智能协会的技术委员会委员、国际粗糙集顾问团成员以及BISC/SIG-GrC有关粒计算技术委员会顾问团的成员。Web Intelligence and AgentSystems、Transactions on Rough Sets等多种国际学术期刊编委。曾经担任三十余个国际会议委员会委员,其中包括WI-2001程序委员会主席、RSCTC-2000程序委员会主席、RSFDGrC-2003程序委员会主席和WI-2004程序委员会主席。在国际刊物和会议论文发表论文200余篇，出版多本英文编著，并多次被邀请做特邀报告。
