个人经历：1977年考入复旦大学哲学系，1984年留系任教，1987年从助教破格晋升为副教授，1988-1990年为德国法兰克福大学访问学者，1992年获哲学博士学位，1993年晋升为教授，并被国务院学位办批准为外国哲学专业博士生导师，1995-1999年担任复旦大学哲学系主任，1997-1998年为哈佛大学访问教授，2005年被评为首届人文社科长江特聘教授。
研究领域（研究专长）：哲学基础理论、外国哲学、国外马克思主义、当代中国哲学文化
代表性成果：《实践与自由》（2010）、《意识形态论（修订版）》（2009）、《问题域的转换》（2007）、《重新理解马克思》（2005）、《从康德到马克思》（2004）、《国外马克思主义哲学流派新编》（2002，第一作者）、《实践诠释学》（2001）
