Abstract: Drawing on the theories of occupational choice and social identity, I propose that an employee’s prior entrepreneurial experience increases the likelihood of subsequent turnover in salaried employment. I also contend that industry dissimilarity, knowledge specificity and employee perceived misfit between prior entrepreneurship and salaried job positively moderate this relationship in proposed directions. The aim of this study is to contribute to a better understanding of the aftermath of entrepreneurship, especially its behavioral implications and its contingencies.
