摘要:

Those joining the Womens Movement of the 1960s and 70s came mostly from the white middle class, but they interlinked with various other contemporary movements. The changes in womens roles and perspectives surfaced in literature by women on both sides of the Atlantic. Women writers and activists focused especially on five areas of writing rebellion. Unlike other 1960s movements, however, the Women’s Movement has radically changed private and public life into the 21st century, with its revisions and re-imaginings of gender structures on both sides of the Atlantic and elsewhere. This lecture will trace the many faces of feminism in literature, film, art, architecture, and other material and visual cultural manifestations and end with an assessment of contemporary feminist awakenings and potentialities.
