Jan H.Schumann is a Professor of Marketing and Innovation at the University ofPassau, Germany. Before joining the University of Passau in 2012, he wasAssistant Professor at the TUM School of Management, Technische Universit?t München (TUM), Germany, where he also received his doctoral degree in2009. Jan studied psychology at the University of Potsdam, Germany and theUniversity of Sussex, Brighton, GB and gained practical experience as abusiness consultant. In addition to his affiliation at the University ofPassau, he worked as an external research fellow for the IMD International,Lausanne, Switzerland (2009-2011) and was a lecturer in the EMBA program of theUniversity of St. Gallen, Switzerland (2010/2011). Jan is also director of theInstitute of Market and Business Research at the University of Passau, whichencompasses two market research agencies. Jan has gained internationalexperience as a visiting research scholar at Boston College, Thunderbird Schoolof Global Management, and City University Hong Kong. He is member of theEditorial Review Board of the Journal of Service Research and ThunderbirdInternational Business Review. His main research interests are onlinemarketing, customer relationship management, and pricing of services. His work hasbeen accepted by leading international journals, such as the Journal ofMarketing, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Service Research, Journal ofBusiness Venturing, Journal of Interactive Marketing, Journal of InternationalMarketing, or Technovation. Moreover, his research has repeatedly been honored,for example as the Best Paper in the Global Marketing Track award at the AMAWinter Educators’ Conference 2011 or as Journal ofService Research Best Article Award Finalist 2010 and granted by the Wharton CustomerAnalytics Initiative (2012).
