主讲人简介:
George Loewenstein is the Herbert A. Simon Professor of Economics and Psychology in the Social and Decision Sciences Department at Carnegie Mellon University and director of the Center for Behavioral Decision Research. He is a leader in the fields of behavioral economics (which he is also credited with co-founding) and neuroeconomics. His intellectual affinities lie at the border between economics and psychology. Much of his work brings psychological considerations to bear on models and problems that are central to economics. His primary research focus is on intertemporal choice--decisions involving trade-offs between costs and benefits occurring at different points in time. A second research focus examines why negotiations often result in impasse, even under favorable conditions. A third recent focus is on people's predictions of their own future feelings and behavior.
讲座内容简介:
Professor Loewenstein will discuss a broad array of topics during the seminar, including his latest research on behavioral economics of healthcare policy, privacy, climate change, and driving. He will illustrate how research in behavioral economics can be applied to public policy-making.
