Prof Finbarr O’Sullivan is the Head of School of Mathematical Sciences and Professor of Statistics, University College Cork, He is also a professor in Radiology, University of Washington, Seattle, WA.Prof Finbarr O’Sullivan’s research field: quantitative image data analysis, aasymptotic analysis, function and functional inference, inverse theory, numerical optimization and stochastic modelling.
Finbarr O’Sullivan教授是考克大学数学科学学院的院长。同时，Finbarr O’Sullivan教授也是美国华盛顿大学放射学教授。研究领域为：图像定量分析，渐进分析，函数及功能性推理，逆理论，数值优化和随机建模
内容提要：
The talk will give an overview of statistics applications in computerized tomography image reconstruction, remote sensing wave height fields and blood input function extraction in the positron emission tomography.
