主讲人介绍：
侯维忠，1989 年获耶鲁大学博士学位。现任美国加州州立大学长滩分校经济学教授（Professor of Economics at California State University, Long Beach），以及南开大学校级兼任教授、河南大学黄河学者、西南财经大学（经济学院）特聘教授。曾任中国留美经济学会（CES）会长(2007-08)，现任CES学术出版委员会主委及董事会常务董事。曾任美国西部社会科学学会 (WSSA) 会长 (2010-11)，现任美国西部经济学会(WEA)常务干事。他曾任SSCI 期刊Contemporary Economic Policy《当代经济政策》(WEA的出版品)的共同主编（senior coeditor）直到2010年、以及其他几种期刊的编辑委员会成员。曾担任美国普渡大学、加州大学洛杉矶分校(UCLA)和台湾东吴大学客座教授以及台湾中山大学讲座教授。曾担任美国教学与学习研究院(Teaching and Learning Institute)与台湾的中国企业研究所(China Enterprise Institute)的研究员。曾多次在美国、德国、法国、日本与中国的学术大会上担任开幕式与闭幕式的主题演讲人。他在北美、欧洲与亚洲的重要期刊上发表多篇文章。目前主要研究领域集中在中国经济（包括劳动、人口老化、国际贸易、与政治经济）、劳动经济学、国际贸易与金融、与经济史。
内容简介：
We will do a side-by-side contrast of various economic measures between the two economies and delve behind the scene to discuss deeper implications.We will examine the root cause of the trade conflicts, and whether it is real or imaginary. At the end, we will raise concerns on two related issues: the aging population and impending labor shortage.
