刘祥伟博士于2018年3月加入西南交通大学生命科学与工程学院从事教学科研工作，主要开展药物合成化学与有机合成化学相关的研究工作。

研究方向为药物化学导向的有机合成方法学发展，旨在将有机化学与药物化学有机结合，发展高效高选择性的分子构建新策略，并将所发展的方法应用于潜在活性分子库的构建及药物分子的后期结构修饰中，以及进一步的活性筛选和构效关系（SAR）研究。

至今已在JournalofAmericanChemicalSociety,AngewandteChemieInternationalEdition,OrganicLetters,TheJournalofOrganicChemistry,
ChemicalCommunications,Chemistry-AEuropeanJournal, Chinese Journal of Organic Chemistry等化学领域国际权威期刊发表学术论文多篇。

先后主持并完成中国博士后科学基金项目（No.2013M530464）和欧盟地平线项目玛丽居里博士后基金（H2020-MSCA-IF,No.702563）项目，主研南开大学元素有机国家重点实验室开放基金项目等，目前主持国家自然科学基金青年项目及四川省科学技术厅面上项目。

Xiang-Wei Liuwas born inChongqing municipalityin 1984.

He received his B. Sc in 2006 atShaanxi University of TechnologywithProf. Zhi-Hua Tang, M. Sc. in 2009 atShaanxi Normal UniversitywithProf. Bao-Lin Liand then Ph.D in 2012 atChengdu Institute of Biology, Chinese Academy of ScienceswithProf. Jian Sun, working on the design, synthesis and application of novel Lewis base organocatalysts in asymmetrichydrosilylation ofbeta-amino nitroolefins and epimines.

In Septerber2012 he moved to theCollege of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering,Peking Univeristyas a postdoctoralfellow withProf. Zhang-Jie Shi, where he worked on the regioselective C-H functionalization of thiazole derivatives, during his time he successfully applied for the grant from China Postdoctoral Science Foundation.
In May 2015 he undertook further postdoctoral studies at theInstitute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (Institut Català d'Investigació Química, ICIQ)as apostdoctoral fellow withProf. Ruben Martinwhere he developed new synthetic strategies for C-B and C-Si bond-forming reactions from inert C-F bond cleavage. During his time at ICIQ, he has successfully applied for the prestigiousMarieCuriePost-doctoralResearchFellowship (MSCA).

In March2018 he joined theSchool of Life Science and Engineering,Southwest Jiaotong Universityas an associate professor. His current researchfocuses on thedevelopment ofmethodologies toward the synthesis ofactive pharmaceutical ingredients. He is now supported by thegrants fromNational Natural Science Foundation of China,Department of Science & Technology of Sichuan Province andthe Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities.
