主要从事动物系统分类、动物地理、动物生态适应与演化、濒危动物保护与管理、群落演替和维持、生物多样性监测与保护、生态环境影响评价等方面的研究工作。

科研与教学：
目前发表研究论文40余篇，相关论文发表在Global Ecology and Biogeography、Ecography、Journal of Biogeography、Molecular Ecology、Evolution、Conservation Biology、Avian Research、生态学报等国内外期刊。担任Journal of Biogeography、Diversity and Distribution、Ecography、Scientific Reports、Biological Conservation、生态学报、生物多样性、动物学杂志、四川动物、生态与农村环境学报等20余期刊审稿人。承担了动物生物学、动物系统分类学、动物行为生态学、普通生物学、生物科学野外综合实习、生态学野外综合实习等课程的本科及研究生教学工作，指导学生获全国大学生生命科学竞赛国家一等奖。
