Abstract: Cellular senescence is a state of cell cycle stoppage caused by severe trauma or stress. Senescent cells accumulate in the nervous system, encouraging neuroinflammation and ultimately resulting in the steady deterioration of particular physiological activities. This may trigger or exacerbate neurological disorders, including neurodegenerative diseases, central nervous system tumors, and neurodevelopmental disorders. This article reviewed the role of cellular senescence in the occurrence and development of neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, craniopharyngioma, medulloblastoma, microcephaly, and neural tube defects.
