Abstract: Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of tumor abnormal protein(TAP)and cytokeratin 19 (CK19)in serum of patients with bladder cancer. Methods A total of 70 patients diagnosed with bladder cancer in our hospital from January 2020 to January 2022 were enrolled in the bladder cancer group,54 patients diagnosed with benign bladder disease during the same period in our hospital were enrolled in the benign group, and 63 healthy people in our hospital served as the control group. TAP and CK19 were detected using lectin affinity method and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay, respectively,in serum samples from the three groups. The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was used for predicting the diagnostic value of TAP,CK19,and the combination of TAP and CK19,for bladder cancer. Results As compared to the benign and control groups, the expression levels of TAP and CK19 were significantly increased in the bladder cancer group(P<0.001),whereas,there was no significant difference in these levels between the benign and control groups(P>0.05). The expression levels of TAP and CK19 significantly correlated with tumor diameter(P<0.05). TAP and CK19 were positively correlated in the serum of patients with bladder cancer(P<0.001). Moreover,as compared to the detection of TAP or CK19 alone, the combination of TAP and CK19 had a greater diagnostic value for bladder cancer. Conclusion TAP and CK19 were highly expressed in the serum of bladder cancer patients and may be considered as tumor markers for the diagnosis of bladder cancer. In addition, the detection of the combination of TAP and CK19 could improve the efficiency of diagnosis of bladder cancer.
Key words: bladder cancer, tumor abnormal protein, cytokeratin
