Abstract: Angiogenesis maintains normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, wound healing, inflammation, and reproduction. The pathogenesis of many diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, rheumatoid arthritis, and cancer is related to the imbalance of angiogenesis. Angiogenesis stimuli and inhibitors collaborate to maintain the angiogenesis balance. In addition, increasing evidence has shown that non-coding RNA,especially long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) and microRNAs (miRNA),are crucial in regulating angiogenesis. In recent years, numerous studies have found that lncRNA may act as an endogenous sponge to regulate the expression and function of miRNA and then combine with lncRNA to regulate its stability. Based on previous studies, this paper will review several types of lncRNA related to the occurrence and development of angiogenesis and discuss their potential mechanisms and relationships. Generally, the review will increase our knowledge of lncRNA and provide directions for future research related to angiogenesis.
Key words: angiogenesis, long non-coding RNA, microRNA, vascular disease
