Abstract: Objective To analyze the expression of circular RNAs (circRNAs) in the placentas of patients with pre-eclampsia (PE) and provide a bioinformatic basis for further studies of the molecular mechanisms underlying PE. Methods The microarray datasets of different preeclamptic placental tissues of PE patients and normal pregnant women were downloaded from the GEO database. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were screened and analyzed by bioinformatics analysis jointly,and the potential microRNAs (miRNAs) were predicted. Results Ten DEGs were screened by combined analysis,all of which were downregulated in the placenta from PE patients and mainly distributed on the human chromosome 7 (chr7); among these sites on chr7,7q36,and 7q22.1 were closely related to the occurrence and development of PE. As a potential miRNA of competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs),miR-1207-3p is closely related to diseases and regulates the proliferation,migration,apoptosis,and other functions of cells. Conclusion circRNAs play important roles in the occurrence,development,and prediction of PE. The current bioinformatics analysis provides a research basis for the further exploration of the mechanisms underlying PE.
