Abstract: Objective To explore the prognostic value of UBA2 in breast cancer and the role of this gene in the proliferation,migration,and apoptosis of the triple-negative breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231. Methods The Kaplan-Meier plotter and Human Protein Atlas databases were used to evaluate the expression and prognostic value of UBA2 in breast cancer. UBA2 was silenced to determine its role in the proliferation,migration,and apoptosis of MDA-MB-231 cells. Results Bioinformatic analysis showed that the expression level of UBA2 was higher in the breast cancer tissues than in the normal tissues,and the patients with high UBA2 expression had worse prognosis than those with low UBA2 expression. Silencing the UBA2 expression in MDA-MB-231 cells inhibited their proliferation and migration,but had no effect on their apoptosis. Conclusion UBA2 is highly expressed in breast cancer tissues and associated with poor prognosis. Silencing UBA2 inhibits the proliferation and migration of triple-negative breast cancer cells.
