Abstract: Objective We observed the structure of the normal fetal aortic valve using real-time bi-plane imaging technology,and explored a novel method for measuring the area of aortic valve annulus in fetuses of different gestational ages. Methods We selected 180 pregnant women who underwent prenatal fetal cardiac ultrasound in our hospital from June 2018 to June 2019. Conventional twodimensional echocardiography and real-time bi-plane imaging technology were used to observe the fetal aortic valve,and the image acquisition times and display rates were recorded and comparatively analyzed. The real-time bi-plane imaging technique was used to measure the area of the fetal aortic annulus. We then used linear regression to analyze the relationship between the area of the aortic annulus and the gestational age. Results When imaging the aortic valve using real-time bi-plane imaging technology,imaging rate was significantly higher and acquisition time was significantly shorter compared to conventional two-dimensional echocardiography (P < 0.05). The area of aortic annulus measured by real-time bi-plane imaging technology was positively correlated with gestational age (P < 0.05). Conclusion Real-time bi-plane imaging technology facilitates observation of the structure of the fetal aortic valve,and the area of the aortic valve annulus is positively correlated with gestational age. The measurement of aortic annulus area using real-time bi-plane imaging technology provides an important reference for clinical assessment of fetal heart development.
