Abstract: Objective To investigate the clinical significance of differential expression of angiotensin receptors in ectopic endometrium in patients with endometriosis. Methods Ectopic endometrium samples from 40 patients who were admitted to our hospital with abdominal wall endometriosis were analyzed as the experimental group for this study. Eutopic endometrium samples from 40 patients with high grade squamous intraepithelial lesions(HSIL) who were undergoing total hysterectomy without pregnancy requirement were analyzed as the control group. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect angiotensin receptor expression in the two groups. Results Both angiotensin type 1 receptor(AT1R) and angiotensin type 2 receptor(AT2R) were expressed in the two groups. AT1R expression in the experiment group was significantly higher compared to that in the control group(P<0.05),while the AT2R expression was significantly lower compared to that in the control group(P<0.05). AT1R expression in the experiment group correlated with the level of serum cancer antigen 125(CA125,P<0.05),but did not correlate with the age, frequency of cesarean section, postoperative onset time,or the number, size,or infiltration depth of nodules(P>0.05). AT2R expression in the experiment group did not correlate with the age, frequency of cesarean section, postoperative onset time,CA125 levels,or the number, size,or infiltration depth of nodules(P>0.05). Conclusion There were differences in AT1R and AT2R expression in patients with abdominal wall endometriosis. Differential expression of AT1R and AT2R was closely related to the occurrence and development of abdominal wall endometriosis.
