Associate Professor, Master Instructor;Department of Municipal Engineering,Nanjing TechUniversity, China;
Visiting Faculty, Marwadi University, India;
Visiting Researcher: Carbon Cycle Research Center (CCRC), National Taiwan University (NTU), Taiwan.
Research Direction: Pollution Control (Air, Water and Soil)
Human being recognizes that the orientation of science in the 21stcentury should be “science for human” since the whole world confrontsinevitable subjectsrelating tosafe, secure, and healthy human life. However, Pollutants have adverse effects on human health and the environment, and their generation must be prevented, detected and deduced. In order to remove pollutant gases including air pollutants (CO2, NOx, and suspended particulate matter PM),we must develop the advanced filters, which selectively adsorb pollutant gases and utilized it like an artificial leaf. While, for removing organic pollutants from water, we have to establish cellulose membrane/hydrophobic and hydrophilic surface technology. And for soil pollutants, we have to work for bio-retention technology.
Recent research direction includes:
I am mainly focusing on wastewater treatment technologies, i.e. adsorption, advance oxidation, bio-retention, polymer membrane, etc. Additionally, I am working on project related to Water Energy Nexus (WEN). Moreover, I am writinga book chapter on WEN- case study Asia published by Berkeley Lecture in Energy (World Scientific).Apart from this WEN, we are focusing on micro plastic related research.
