Biography I joined the Hong Kong Polytechnic University as an Assistant Professor since July 2017 and I have been trained as an urban planner. My fields of research are urban planning, urban studies and urban and regional development, with a primary focus on the Greater China.
My research interests include two major areas. The first area is about age-friendly cities and communities. I am interested in researching older people’s living environment as well as their well-being and place attachment, using mixed methods research methodology. The other area touches upon urban and regional development from the political economic and state theoretical perspective. I investigate land development in China’s pilot zones and liveability of regional development in the Greater Bay Area.
I teach urban planning and development, project studio, research methods and China’s real estate development practices. Professionally, I have been serving expert panel for consultancies in the area of age-friendly environment and housing, as well as for United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in the area of disaster risks assessment and statistics.
