DrLAM Bick Har
Associate Professor
DrLAM Bick-har is an Associate Professor of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, and a research fellow of the Asia Pacific Centre for Leadership and Change. Her research interests include teaching innovations, teacher knowledge, and teacher professional development. DrLam is the author of Learning and Teaching in the Chinese Classroom (2011, 2013), and Young People’s Visions of the World (2010). She has been awarded a number of research grants and teaching development grants since 2006, resulting in publications in international peer-reviewed journals, books and book chapters. DrLam is editor-in-chief of an international refereed journal in curriculum and teaching. One of her main research interests is teaching innovation, and she has compiled research-based materials online and made them freely available via ‘Active Classroom’ (http://www.ied.edu.hk/aclass/). In 2010, she won the Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award. In 2012, she won the President’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Teaching. In 2011, she was nominated by the university for the Inaugural University Grants Committee Teaching Award and turned out to be one of the six finalists. Dr. Lam is currently an advisor of the Institute of Leadership and Education Advanced Development (ILEAD) for the regional teaching award of China; she is a visiting research scholar of the National Institute of Education of Singapore. She also serves as curriculum consultant for a number of local and international schools in Hong Kong.
