Research Interests
Next-generation Internet, packet switch/router design, all-optical networks, wireless data networks.Prof. Yeung was born in 1969. He received his B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in Information Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1992 and 1995, respectively. He joined the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, The University of Hong Kong in July 2000, where he is currently a Professor, and the Information Engineering Program Co-Director. Before that, he has spent five years in the Department of Electronic Engineering, City University of Hong Kong as an Assistant Professor. During the summer of 1993, Prof. Yeung served with the Performance Analysis Department, AT&T Bell Laboratories, Holmdel, USA, as a Member of Technical Staff-I. Prof. Yeung’s research interests include next-generation Internet, packet switch/router design, all-optical networks and wireless data networks. Prof. Yeung is a regular technical reviewer for many international journals and conferences, and an associate editor of EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking. He has co-authored a book and published over 170 papers in international journals and conferences since 1993. In the academic year of 1998-99, he was recognized as an Outstanding Teacher in the Department of Electronic Engineering, City University of Hong Kong. In the year of 2001-2002, he received the Outstanding Young Researcher Awards from The University of Hong Kong.
