Lidia Ratoi is a computational designer, robotic fabrication researcher and architect, graduate of IAAC, Barcelona, where she was part of the TerraPerforma project, and UAUIM, Bucharest. Apart from being an Assistant Lecturer at HKU, Lidia is a member of DesignMorphine, conducting workshops and webinars related to digital fabrication, and writes for Clot Magazine.
Lidia’s work focuses on a multidisciplinary approach and aims to merge together various branches of art through a digitalized approach. Her main interest lies in robotics and in broadening this field within the architectural paradigm, by pairing it with material research, societal behavior and artistic pursuits. She has worked in architecture, interior / product / fashion design, scenography, robotic and digital fabrication, and writing. She has previously worked for The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (KADK), as a visiting researcher, focusing on Adaptive Facades for Nordic Climate, and as a tutor within the Extreme Environment Program. She has taught Grasshopper and Digital Fabrication Strategies within SLA S/A Copenhagen, has worked for Noumena, Barcelona, the Reshape Competition, and for Arch2O Magazine, being senior editor.?
