Prof. Chung Pak-Kwong is the Associate Dean (Development) of the Faculty of Social Sciences and professor of the Department of Sport and Physical Education, Hong Kong Baptist University. Prof. Chung has strong interest in conducting research in environmental, social, physical, and psychological factors of active aging, with a particular focus on older adults’ functional fitness and health behaviors (e.g., walking, exercise, and physical activity). He is also interested in conducting research in Physical Education of primary and middle school students relating to Self-determination Theory. Prof. Chung has secured five major research grants as PI and Co-PI from the government, which include three GRF, one RIF, and one PPR. Prof. Chung is also providing professional services in the following capacities: Member of Grant Review Board, Health and Medical Research Fund (HMRF), Food and Health Bureau, Government of HKSAR; Member of Curriculum Development Council on Physical Education, Curriculum Development Council, Government of the HKSAR; Member of Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Subject Committees (Physical Education); Chairman, Executive Committee, Physical Fitness Association of Hong Kong, China; Vice-President, Hong Kong Wushu Union, Trustee Member, Hong Kong Tennis Foundation; and External Examiner of the Coach Education Program of Hong Kong Sports Institute.
