OVERVIEW

Prof. Jonathan Wong Woon Chung is currently the Head and Professor of the Department of Biology at the Hong Kong Baptist University where he has taught since 1992. He received his Ph.D. in Environmental Science from Murdoch University, Western Australia.
He is the Director of Institute of Bioresource and Agriculture, the Sino-Forest Applied Research Centre for Pearl River Delta Environment and Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre.
Prof. Wong more than any other single scientist, formulated the field of converting biomass to bioresource in Hong Kong from academic study to industrial applications. Still now, he is very much in the area of research with added flavors of sustainability, low-carbon life style, contaminant-free food, bioenergy, biomass, to achieve “a cleaner environment for all”.
