Research InterestsLanguage and mathematical development in children, behavior genetics, statistics and research methods in psychology.
I am interested in how genetic and environmental factors are associated with language and math development in young children. My current research focuses on the association between laterality, or handedness, and learning. Specifically, my work aims to investigate the prevalence and heritability of handedness in Chinese, and the connection between handedness (both preference and relative hand skill) and children’s reading, writing and math performance.
