Introduction Mona Yeung is a Registered Architect under the Architects Registration Board and an Authorized Person (List of Architects) under the Buildings Ordinance in Hong Kong. She is also a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA), a chartered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), an associated member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), a member of DOCOMOMO Hong Kong, and a correspondent member of DOCOMOMO Macau.
After she graduated with a Bachelor of Environmental Studies degree and a Master of Architecture degree both from the University of Manitoba in Canada, Mona moved to Hong Kong to intern at P & T Architects and Engineers Ltd., where she was involved with numerous landmark projects.
For the past 18 years, Mona has been pursuing her passion in architecture education and research. Her research interests include the historical development of the building codes and their progressive effects on the local building typology, architectural design and practice, and architectural pedagogy. She is currently Senior Programme Director of Architectural Studies at HKU SPACE, as well as External Examiner for BEng Architecture (Hon) RIBA Part 1 at the University of Nottingham in Ningbo, China.
Mona is a member of the Appeal Tribunal Panel and Town Planning Appeals Board appointed by HKSAR’s Chief Secretary under the Buildings Ordinance and Town Planning Ordinance respectively.?As an active member of HKIA, she currently serves on the Board of Educational Affairs, Paper 5 Subject Panel, Professional Assessment Review Committee, as well as being a Professional Assessment Advisor.
