BiographyMr. Zhao Tao currently serves as the president of Huatian International Hotel Management Co. ltd. Huatian Hotel Group is a publicly listed company on Shenzhen Stock Exchange and has close to 50 hotels in operation across China including locations in Beijing. Shenzhen, Wuhan, Changsha, Changchun and Paris, France.
Prior to joining Huatian Group, Mr. Tao worked for Country Garden Hotel Group as its president, Luneng Group Hotel Management Co. as its CEO. Before moving back to China at the end of 2012, Mr. Tao also worked for 6 years at the hotel asset management division of Morgan Stanley Capital In Tokyo, Japan; and over 16 years in the areas of hotel operation and asset management in North America.
Mr. Tao earned a BA from Shanghai International Studies University in China and an MBA from Queen’s University of Canada. Mr. Tao is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and a Certified Hotel Asset Manager (CHAM). Mr. Tao was a board member of Hospitality Asset Managers Association (HAMA) Japan and at present serves the president of HAMA China. Mr. Tao speaks Chinese, English and Japanese.
