摘要Objective: To validate an assessment tool for evaluating the tone perception ability of Cantonese-speaking children. Subjects: 2http://aims.cuhk.edu.hk/converis/portal/Publication/0http://aims.cuhk.edu.hk/converis/portal/Publication/0 normal-hearing and 141 hearing-impaired children. Methods: A 75-item pool covering all 15 Cantonese tone contrasts was constructed. Subjects responded to each presented test stimulus by pointing at the corresponding picture displayed on a computer screen. Results: The Cronbach's alpha coefficients of the 15 tone contrasts all exceeded .75 except those for T2/T5 (alpha = .57) and T3/T6 (alpha = .53). Interrater reliability as represented by the ICC(2,1) coefficients yielded an average value of .91. The intrarater reliability of the four raters as represented by the overall ICC(3,1) coefficients ranged from .84 to .95. The item-total correlation coefficients of the 75 test items all exceeded .3http://aims.cuhk.edu.hk/converis/portal/Publication/0 except one. Factor analysis revealed a one-factor model that explains 41.4% of the total variance. Conclusions: Preliminary analyses indicate that the CanTIT is a reliable and valid assessment tool for measuring the Cantonese tone perception ability of children.
