Stella W. Pang received the B.Sc. degree from Brown University, Providence, RI, USA, in 1977, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Princeton University, Princeton, NJ, USA, in 1978 and 1981, respectively.
From 1981 to 1989, she was with the Lincoln Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA. She was a Professor of electrical engineering and computer science with the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, from 1990 to 2011. She was the Associate Dean of the Graduate Education and International Programs with the College of Engineering from 2002 to 2007. She is currently a Chair Professor and the Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, where she is also the Director of the Centre for Biosystems, Neuroscience, and Nanotechnology. She has over 400 technical articles, book chapters, and invited presentations and is the editor and author of 16 books, journals, and conference proceedings. She has 9 patents granted in nanotechnology and microsystems. Her research interests include nanofabrication technology for biomedical, micro-electromechanical, microelectronic, and optical devices.
Prof. Pang has served as a Conference Organizer for the American Vacuum Society (AVS), Electrochemical Society (ECS), Electronic Materials Conference, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), International Symposium on Electron, Ion, and Photon Beam Technology, and Nanofabrication, Material Research Society, and SPIE. She has taught 32 short courses on microfabrication and nanoimprint technology for microelectronic manufacturing and micro-electromechanical systems. She is a fellow of the AVS, ECS, IEEE, and Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE).

Research Centre Centre for Biosystems, Neuroscience, and Nanotechnology
The Centre for Biosystems, Neuroscience, and Nanotechnology (CBNN) merges nanotechnology with biosystems and neuroscience to create a revolutionary impact on many aspects of medicine. This multidisciplinary centre will develop materials, structures, devices, and microsystems with nanometre precision for single molecule and cell interactions. We will develop portable biosystems with multiple sensors and stimulators in the new frontiers of molecular- and atomic-scale science and engineering, which can be applied to medical monitoring, diagnostics, tissue engineering and repair, and prostheses for debilitating disorders. Using a wide range of pre-clinical models from mice to human, our centre is devoted to become a major hub for innovation at the intersection of nanotechnology for biosystems, neurobiology, neural engineering, and behavioural and cognitive neuroscience. Our ultimate goal is to utilize cutting edge science and technology to translate basic research into potential therapeutic interventions and treatments of diseases and neurological disorders.

Duties:
Design, fabrication, and testing of biomedical sensors and actuators in microsystems with development of nanotechnology. Research in sensing and control of biomolecules and cells. Exciting opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary team with hands-on experience in the cleanroom and interactions with research groups from Electric Engineering, Biology and Chemistry, Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering, Physics and Materials, Energy and Environment, and Medical School.
