从事鱼类及人类天然免疫抗病毒反应分子机理研究，获教育部“新世纪优秀人才支持计划”和湖南省“自然科学杰出青年基金”资助，入选湖南省“新世纪121人才工程”，主持国家自然科学基金等多项课题。第五届全国专业技术人才先进集体--湖南师大生科院“淡水鱼类发育生物学创新研究团队”核心成员；中国水产学会鱼病专业委员会会员，湖南省水产学会理事；获国家科学技术进步二等奖。
承担了湖南师大生科院本科生《细胞工程实验》教学工作，承担了发育生物学、细胞生物学及水生生物学方向硕士研究生《分子细胞生物学》和《肿瘤病毒学》教学工作，入选湖南省高校优秀青年骨干教师。

研究方向：

A.鱼类天然免疫抗病毒机理研究（以鲤科鱼类为研究对象，探索RIG-I/MAVS/IFN信号通道在鱼类天然免疫抗病毒反应中的功能机制）。

B.疱疹病毒致病机理研究（以斑马鱼和小鼠为模式生物，研究KSHV,rHV68等疱疹病毒的致病机理)。
