湖南师范大学“潇湘学者”。1988年毕业于天津南开大学，主修化学；1991年在南开大学取得硕士学位，主修分析化学；1991年至1998年在湖南海利公司任助理研究员，1997-1998年湖南化工研究院试验厂副厂长；2003年在美国Marquette University大学取得博士学位，主修有机/聚合物化学；2003年至2005年在美国University of Southern Mississippi聚合物科学系Urban研究组做博士后，研究涂料的成膜机理；2005年至今在湖南师范大学化学化工学院任教授，博士生导师，主攻高分子材料。在齐聚物、共聚物的合成; 聚合物改性粘土及其纳米复合材料; 粘土纳米复合材料阻燃性能等方面有一定的研究基础，并熟悉聚合物之间及聚合物与其他材料之间的界面作用。已承担湖南师范大学“潇湘学者”支持项目，2005-2010,《粘土聚合物纳米复合材料的研究与开发》。湖南省自然科学基金项目1项，长沙市科技局项目1项。并参与完成了国家自然科学基金资助课题《低聚物修饰蒙脱土的制备及应用》。“863计划”资源环境技术领域2007年度专题课题“抗肿瘤寡核苷酸类药物及其体内靶向载体的研发与应用”目标导向类课题副组长。在Journal of Polymer Science Part A. Polymer Chemistry， Polymer Degradation and Stability, 工程塑料应用等国内外知名学术刊物发表论文70余篇，申请和授权国家发明专利6项。担任Polymers for Advanced Technologies和Journal of Applied Polymer Science审稿人，湖南化学化工学会理事，《精细化工中间体》编委。
