研究方向为大气氮沉降、土地利用变化、土壤环境等因素对树木-菌根（mycorrhiza）群落结构和共生关系的驱动和影响机制，阐述树木-菌根共生关系建立的过程中进化特异性和养分分配策略，以此指导农林产业生态系统可持续经营发展。
2014年获国家留学基金委（Chinese Scholar Council）资助，赴美国西北大学（Northwestern University）植物保护学（Plant Biology and Conservation）专业攻读博士学位，于2018年顺利完成学业，提前归国。主持和参与国家自然基金、省林业局特色林业产业等多项国家级、省级科研项目。作为团队主要成员获得湖南省科技进步奖1项。以第一作者或通讯作者在国内外学术期刊发表论文10余篇。受邀担任《New Phytologist》、《Land Degradation and Development》等著名学术期刊审稿人。
