国际持久性有毒物质联合研究中心(IJRC-PTS),成立于2006年,联合研究中心成立后建立了具有国际先进水平的实验平台,引进了加拿大环境部国家实验室完整的质量保证和质量控制系统(QA/QC),并加入了国际质量认证体系网络,定期参加国际实验室比对。联合研究中心已经发展成为涵盖8个国家的21个分中心的国际合作联盟,中心总部设在哈尔滨工业大学。
联合研究中心(哈工大)先后承担和完成国际和国家级项目30余项,发表学术论文150余篇,在环境类国际一流期刊《Environmental Science and Technology》上发表20余篇文章。

本科生课程:
基础课《环境学(双语)》:本课程为环境专业基础课程,主要讲授环境问题的复杂性和多学科性,环境经济学与评价,生态学原理及应用,各种环境污染问题及对策。本课程为双语教学,采用国际最新通用英文教材。公选课《环境中有毒物质的污染与人体健康》:本课程主要讲授环境介质(食品、空气、土壤、个人护理品)中有毒污染物的污染、种类、毒理学、分析检测技术、以及污染物对人体健康的危害。公选课《持久性有机化合物在多介质中的环境行为》:本课程主要讲授有机污染物在大气、土壤、水和底泥构成的多介质生态环境中的行为规律、通过计算方法和数值模拟的方式研究环境污染问题。创新实验课《有毒物质进入人体的分析实验》:本课程的特色是将国际前沿热点科学问题带入本科生课堂,由学生结合兴趣、根据调研结果,提出影响人体健康的污染问题,在教师指导下确定实验方案,由学生完成实验过程和数据的分析过程,培养学生的科研兴趣,在提出问题、分析问题和解决问题的过程中培养学生的自主创新能力。本课程是哈工大“创新能力提升计划—创新实验课“项目。研究生课程:
选修课《大气颗粒物检测分析技术》:本课程主要讲授大气颗粒的采样技术(环境样品和源样品采样)、大气颗粒物的化学组成及其分析检测技术、大气颗粒物的来源识别与解析方法、大气颗粒物排放清单编辑技术。选修课《化学动力学原理及在环境科学中的应用(英文)》:本课程为哈工大”与国际高水平学者共建研究生课程“,本人与纽约州立大学的Kurunthachalam Kannan教授共同承担,主要讲授化学动力学的基本原理,以及在环境学科中的应用。Kannan教授,环境毒理学专家,在国际上享有较高的声誉,论文他引率多次世界排名前三。
研究领域
主要从事污染物采集技术和分析测试方法开发、环境行为和去除规律研究、空气污染控制理论与技术等方面的研究,近年来的主要关注点是大气(雾霾)中半挥发性有机污染物的污染特征、来源解析、传输规律、毒理等方面的研究,特别是在大气中半挥发性有机污染物的气粒分配理论方面开展了较为深入的研究。

简单介绍Understanding the seasonal variations of sources of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in air in urban region is important to the effective control of air pollution in the region. Based on a year round dataset (from August 2008 to July 2009), the sources of atmospheric PAHs in Harbin, a typical Chinese northeastern urban city, were analyzed by principal component analysis (PCA) and positive matrix factorization (PMF). The average total (gas plus particulate) PAH concentration varied from 6.3 ng m-3 to 340 ng m-3 with a mean of 100 ± 94 ng m-3, with higher concentrations in heating season than those in non-heating season. PCA and PMF identified similar source factors to atmospheric PAHs with obvious seasonal variation. The results obtained by PMF method indicated that the main sources were coal-fired boiler (39%), diesel engine (34%) and coal average (22%) in heating season and traffic emissions (59%), ground evaporation (18%) and coal average (17%) in non-heating season. Excellent correlation coefficients between predicted and measured concentrations of PAHs indicated that PMF was a useful model for source apportionment of PAHs in atmosphere.

简单介绍A comprehensive sampling campaign was carried out to study atmospheric concentration of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in Beijing and to evaluate the effectiveness of source control strategies in reducing PAHs pollution after the 29th Olympic Games. The sub-cooled liquid vapor pressure (log )-based model and octanol-air partition coefficient (Koa)-based model were applied based on each seasonal dateset. Regression analysis among log KP, log and log Koa exhibited high significant correlations for four seasons. Source factors were identified by principle component analysis and contributions were further estimated by multiple linear regression. Pyrogenic sources and coke oven emission were identified as major sources for both the non-heating and heating seasons. As compared with literatures, the mean PAH concentrations before and after the 29th Olympic Games were reduced by more than 60%, indicating that the source control measures were effective for reducing PAHs pollution in Beijing.

简单介绍Dechlorane plus (DP) was quantified by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) in soil and ambient air (collected from Harbin city, a typical northeastern Chinese urban region), water and sediment samples (collected in the segment within Harbin of Songhua river, located in northeast of China). The average concentrations of DP in sediment and soil samples were 123.6 pg g-1 dry weight (dw), and 11.3 pg g-1 dw, respectively. However, the concentration of DP in water was below the method detection limit (MDL). The inter-media comparison between water and sediment suggested that the sediment may be a receptor for DP. For air samples, two methods were used for collecting air in order to compare, active air sampling (AAS) and passive air sampling (PAS). The average concentrations of DP were 0.4 pg m-3 and 6.9 pg m-3 for AAS and PAS samples, respectively. Discrepancies of deployment period and different calculated method for DP concentration may help to explain the remarkable difference between PAS and AAS. Overall, DP in all matrices in Harbin city showed lower concentrations than that in the Great Lakes region. The anti-DP isomer was consistently greater than that of the syn-DP isomer in all matrices. The average fractional abundance of the syn-DP isomer (fsyn) was smaller than the technical DP composition (fsyn = 0.35) according to other studies in the Great Lakes region. As we know, this study is the first attempt to comprehensively study DP concentrations in four different matrices (water, ambient air, sediment and soil) in China.

简单介绍Dried blood spot (DBS), collected as part of the newborn screening program (NSP) in the United States, is a valuable resource for studies on environmental chemical exposures and associated health outcomes in newborns. Nevertheless, determination of concentrations of environmental chemicals in DBS requires assays with great sensitivity, as the typical volume of blood available on a DBS with 16-mm diameter disc is approximately 50 μL. In this study, we developed a liquid-liquid extraction and high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS) method for the detection of perfluorooctanesulfonate (PFOS), perfluorooctanoate (PFOA), and bisphenol A (BPA) in DBS. The method was validated for accuracy, precision, and sensitivity, by spiking of target chemicals at different levels on a Whatman 903 filter card, which is used in the collection of DBS by the NSP. Contamination arising from collection, storage, and handling of DBS is an important issue to be considered in the analysis of trace levels of environmental chemicals in DBS. For the evaluation of the magnitude of background contamination, field blanks were prepared from unspotted portions of DBS filter cards collected by the NSP. The method was applied for the measurement of PFOS, PFOA, and BPA in 192 DBS specimens provided by the NSP of New York State (NYS). PFOS and PFOA were detected in 100% of the specimens analyzed. The concentrations of PFOS and PFOA measured in DBS were similar to those reported earlier in the whole blood samples of newborns. BPA was also found in 86% of the specimens at concentrations ranging from 0.2 to 36 ng/mL (excluding two outliers). Further studies are needed to evaluate the sources of BPA exposures and health outcomes in newborns.

简单介绍Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) are ubiquitous environmental pollutants, and, on a global basis, North American populations are exposed to the highest doses of PBDEs. In response to the exponential increase in human exposure to PBDEs during the late 1990s, some PBDE formulations were phased out from production in the early 2000s. The effectiveness of the phase-out of commercial Penta-BDE and Octa-BDE mixtures in 2004 in the U.S. on human exposure levels is not known. Dried blood spots (DBSs), collected for the newborn screening program (NSP) in the U.S., are a valuable resource for the elucidation of trends in exposure to environmental pollutants in newborns. In this study, seven PBDE congeners were determined by gas chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry (GC-HRMS) in archived DBS samples (in total, 51 blood spot composites from 1,224 newborns) collected from newborns in New York State (NYS) from 1997 to 2011. The most frequently detected PBDE congener was BDE-47, with a detection rate (DR) of 86%, followed by BDE-99 (DR: 45%) and BDE-100 (DR: 43%). The mean concentrations determined during 1997 through 2011 in the whole blood of newborns were 0.128, 0.040, and 0.012 ng/mL for BDEs -47, -99, and -100, respectively. A significant correlation was found among the concentrations of three major congeners (p < 0.001). PBDE concentrations were similar during 1997 through 2002 and, thereafter, decreased significantly, which was similar to the trends observed for perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) in DBS samples. Occurrence of PBDEs in the whole blood of newborns confirms that these compounds do cross the placental barrier.

简单介绍Gas/particle (G/P) partitioning for semivolatile organic compounds (SVOCs) is an important process that primarily governs their atmospheric fate, long-range atmospheric transport, and their routes to enter human body. All previous studies on this issue have hypothetically based on equilibrium condition, the results of which do not predict results from monitoring studies well in most cases. In this study, a steady-state model instead of an equilibrium-state model for the investigation of the G/P partitioning behavior for polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) was established, and an equation for calculating the partition coefficients under steady state (KPS) for PBDEs (logKPS = logKPE + log?) was developed, in which an equilibrium term (logKPE= logKOA+logfOM–11.91, where fOM is organic matter content of the particles)?and a nonequilibrium term (log?, caused by dry and wet depositions of particles), both being functions of logKOA (octanol-air partition coefficient), are included. It was found that the equilibrium is a special case of steady state when the nonequilibrium term equals to zero. A criterion to classify the equilibrium and nonequilibrium status for PBDEs was also established using two threshold values of logKOA, logKOA1 and logKOA2, which divide the range of logKOA into 3 domains: equilibrium, nonequilibrium, and maximum partition domain; and accordingly, two threshold values of temperature t, tTH1 when logKOA = logKOA1 and tTH2 when logKOA = logKOA2, were identified, which divide the range of temperature also into the same 3 domains for each PBDE congener. We predicted the existence of the maximum partition domain (the values of logKPS reach a maximum constant of -1.53) that every PBDE congener can reach when logKOA ≥ logKOA2, or t ≤ tTH2. The novel equation developed in this study was applied to predict the G/P partition coefficients of PBDEs for our China-SAMP-II program in China and other monitoring programs worldwide, including Asia, Europe, North America, and the Arctic, and the results matched well with all the monitoring data, except those obtained at e-waste sites due to the unpredictable PBDE emissions at these sites. This study provided evidence that, the newly developed steady-state-based equation is superior to the equilibrium-state-based equation that has been used in describing the G/P partitioning behavior in decades. We suggest that, the investigation on G/P partitioning behavior for PBDEs should be based on steady state, not equilibrium state, and equilibrium is just a special case of steady state when nonequilibrium factors can be ignored. We also believe that our new equation provides a useful tool for environmental scientists in both monitoring and modeling research on G/P partitioning for PBDEs and can be extended to predict G/P partitioning behavior for other SVOCs as well.

简单介绍As a signatory of the Stockholm Convention and the largest developing country, China plays a very important role in implementation of the convention to reduce and finally eliminate persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in the world. In the past ten years after the enforcement in 2004, Chinese Government and scientists have made great progress on the study of POPs. The present work aims to provide an overview on recent studies on POPs in China, with particular focus on usage/emission inventory, residue inventory, and pollution status of POPs on national scale. Several legend (old) and new target POPs were comprehensively summarized with progress on inventory. Furthermore, several national scale monitoring programs have been selected for the occurrence, spatial and temporal trends of POPs in China, which are compared with Asian data and Global data. Based on the observed results, some important scientific issues, such as the primary and secondary distribution patterns, the primary and secondary fractionations, and air-soil exchange of POPs, are also discussed. It is proposed that more studies should be carried out for the new targeted POPs in future for both the national and global interests.

简单介绍Dust from indoor environments can contain significant amounts environmental contaminants and is an important source of human exposure to several toxicants. In this article, studies on the occurrence of several emerging environmental contaminants, namely bisphenol A (BPA), tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA), phthalates, parabens, and other environmental phenolic compounds in indoor dust from various countries, were reviewed. Issues associated with sampling of dust and the uncertainties introduced in the analytical procedures were also summarized. Finally, exposure to environmental phenolic compounds through dust ingestion was evaluated, and the contribution of indoor dust to the total daily exposure of toxicants was estimated. Overall, the reported concentrations of target chemicals in dust were found, in decreasing order, as phthalates (overall mean: 949 ± 669 μg/g, range: 0.9-10,900 μg/g) >>> nonylphenol (8.9 ± 6.8 μg/g, 2.6-29.2 μg/g) > BPA (3.6 ± 4.5 μg/g, 0.35-16.6 μg/g) > Σparabens (1.53 ± 0.52 μg/g, 0.03-125 μg/g) > pentachlorophenol (1.39 ± 2.31 μg/g, 0.050- 5.76 μg/g) > triclosan (0.65 ± 0.23 μg/g, 0.38-0.93 μg/g) > TBBPA (0.18 ± 0.14 μg/g, 0.049-0.505 μg/g). Despite the elevated levels of the target phenolic compounds reported in indoor dust, exposure of humans through dust ingestion was minor. Nevertheless, dust can be a significant source of exposure to phenolic compounds for infants and toddlers. Elevated levels of phenolic compounds were found in dust collected from certain microenvironments such as offices and laboratories.
